What and Why?
I often have conversations, read/hear news stories, and random thoughts that make me think: "That would be a great name for a band." And, well, here are the results--good, bad, or indifferent. I was never in an actual band... But if I were, these would be that band (this would be those?).

Always keeping you down - The Man

Wednesday, February 11th, 2009

The Man would be my band in the early 70s… Radical politics with underpinnings of funk… Giving it back to, well, The Man.

John and I Went to Boston

Wednesday, February 11th, 2009

Okay, not technically a band name (but it might work), John and I Went to Boston would be a great name for a folk song–maybe a song done by Donkey Cart.

Actually, it seems that any time you combine someone’s name with a verb and a city name, you get a good name for a folk song… works everytime as far as I can tell.

Another all girl band (and me!) - Daughters of Robert

Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

My early 80s Heavy Metal, all girl (and me) band  — Daughters of Robert–yes, all with dads whose name is Robert.

We played for a while in the LA scene (The Whiskey, etc.) but when Joan Jett took over pop radio, it broke our hearts… for awhile we even tried to out-do her by becoming a Tommy James and the Shondells cover band… to no avail.

(Sorry it has been awhile, I am back on it now… Band Name courtesy of Amy)
